We bought this for a senior German Shepherd who has trouble balancing on their soft seat cover we used before (also Travel Buddy). The firm bottom gives her a wide, stable place to lie down without sliding toward the floor. She can step into the car more comfortably because there is no side panel to unzip and hold out of the way. During warmer afternoon trips, the large mesh section provides welcome airflow. The seat belt openings also make it easy to keep her harness connected throughout the ride. When the grandchildren need the back seat, the hammock folds flat and moves into the trunk without much effort. Seeing her settle down instead of constantly repositioning makes the purchase worthwhile.
Setup took a little longer on the first attempt. Not so easy to figure it out especially considering this is our first dog seat cover.

Two muddy dogs and a rainy hiking weekend gave this cover a serious first test. Water, sand, paw prints, and loose fur all stayed away from the upholstery. The extended side protection is especially useful since both dogs put their front paws on the seat edges while climbing in. Treats, waste bags, and spare leashes fit easily inside the deep storage pockets. Cleanup took a damp cloth and a few passes with a handheld vacuum. It also looks much nicer than the thin black covers sold at most pet stores. Thanks!!!

Our 85 pound Lab finally has enough room to stretch out during long drives. The hard bottom stays level and does not sag into the footwell like our old hammock did. He seems much more relaxed when the car turns or stops suddenly. The larger mesh window lets him see us and keeps air moving through the back seat. Getting him inside is also easier because the side panels move with the doors. After a four hour road trip, this dog seat cover still looked neat and only needed a quick vacuum. This has made traveling with a big dog noticeably more comfortable for everyone:)
