How to Tell If Your Scent Diffuser Is Working

The simplest way to tell whether your diffuser is working is to notice whether you can smell its fragrance near the device after it has had time to run; with our waterless Aura Glide, visible vapor is not the test to rely on. Try stepping away for a few minutes and returning, since your nose can become accustomed to a scent while you remain in the same space.

If you cannot smell anything, make sure the pod and essential oil are in place as directed before you decide the diffuser has stopped working; a pod that is empty or not properly positioned may leave you with little scent to notice. Test the diffuser in a still space without another air freshener nearby, then compare the smell close to the unit with the smell farther away; airflow, competing fragrances, and distance can make a working diffuser harder to judge. If your unit has a power or operating control, confirm it is set for use, then allow a little time before checking again rather than expecting an immediate, room-filling scent.

If the pod is correctly installed, scent remains available, and you still notice no fragrance after a reasonable test, stop the diffuser and revisit its operating instructions for any setup step you may have missed.
